Talent Profile

Danica Lawrence

Danica Lawrence

Danica Lawrence is a strong, experienced, and energetic television news anchor with a credible presence on camera. Danica started working in television news in 2007 but was born into the industry decades ago with a father who's worked in broadcasting for 40 years at KTLA in Los Angeles.

Danica anchors the FOX13 "Live at Noon" newscast in Salt Lake City, Utah Monday through Friday, and you’ll also find her daily, live reports throughout the evening. Danica joined the FOX13 News team in July of 2015 from Tampa Bay, Florida. She reported at the CBS station and covered several national news stories out of the gulf area from sinkholes and waterspouts to severe flooding.

Another passion of hers is finding a cure for Type 1 diabetes. She currently volunteers on the board of directors for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Her efforts to help find a cure are ongoing and have spanned multiple cities. She's emceed a handful of JDRF and American Diabetes Association events that raised thousands of dollars.

Danica’s first anchor/reporter job was in Idaho Falls, Idaho at the CBS affiliate. She loved the small town she called home for a short time. After Idaho Falls she anchored and reported in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the FOX affiliate. During her time there she covered many breaking news stories including two EF-5 tornadoes and some of her most inspiring stories about military families losing their loves ones in the line of duty.

Danica is from Burbank, California. She grew up in the KTLA newsroom. Her father has worked at KTLA for four decades.  When she was younger, she went to work with him often and fell in love with storytelling.  Her mentor at a young age was KTLA's Hal Fishman.  She followed Hal’s advice to become a news anchor.  Danica will never forget his reverence for the news media, and the kindness he showed her over the many years until his passing.

Danica married a sports/news broadcaster, Jeff McAdam in June 2016. They met in Tulsa and fell in love.  They have anchored several newscasts together in Salt Lake City. When they are not telling people's stories, they are active, hiking through Utah's spectacular mountains and playing with their two dogs and cat.
