Talent Profile

Deborah Souverain
Reporter, Central FL News 13, Orlando

Deborah Souverain

Deborah is the fresh and creative morning live reporter at WFTX, Ft. Myers Florida. She distinguished herself mightily with outstanding live reporting of Hurricane Irma which struck her market September 19th. She is also quick to pick up her camera and shoot her own stories for the morning news.

She went to the excitement and heat of the near tropics from the extreme cold of winter in Iowa (KCAU, Sioux City).  She says the stories she covered and the amazing people she met there made it all worth it.

Deborah started her career as an Associate Producer in Miami. She fell in love with the fast-paced nature of news, but quickly learned that she wanted to be out reporting where news happens. She readily traded Florida’s sun for Iowa’s cold and a newsroom cubicle for a camera and a car and the opportunity to learn reporting.

Deborah is passionate about health-conscious living and the environment. “I’m also a sucker for animals,” she adds, “they’re like extended family to me!”
