Taniya Wright brings a wealth of experience as an Anchor, serving as main Morning Anchor at KPRC in Houston, WNCN in Raleigh, North Carolina, and KJRH in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Before switching to the AM shift, she served as the Midday and 5 pm anchor at WHAG in Hagerstown, Maryland. Taniya also worked as a producer at WFLA, the NBC affiliate in her hometown of Tampa, Florida. Taniya graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Mass Communications. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority and the Order of Omega honor society. Taniya comes from a Gold Star Family and is very involved with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, an organization she herself received a scholarship from that helps the children of fallen Special Operators attend college. She speaks at fundraising events across the United States for the foundation. Taniya is passionate about animals and has spearheaded many fundraising efforts to help animal shelters in Maryland, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as being a volunteer at Carolina Tiger Rescue outside of Raleigh. Taniya loves to meet new people, travel, and theatre. She has completed more than a dozen half marathons and in 2011, she was lucky enough to run in the world famous New York City Marathon.
