Dallas-based WFAA-TV's new free Apple iPhone/iTouch app ranks No. 8 on the most downloaded news charts

That puts it ahead of national entities such as msnbc.com, HuffingtonPost.com, Time mobile, CBS News and The Today Show according to itunes current list of top 100 free news apps
